FAQ

Q: I've bought buttons before off the web and eBay that were, to be blunt, crap. What can I expect from your buttons?

A: Glad you asked that. Many people who make buttons as a hobby and sell them online, or on eBay, use a hand press BAM system (Badge A Minit). That's how I started. They are not bad, but they don't come out looking that great. The edges tend to come out a bit jagged, with points on the mylar. But I soon discovered that I wanted to put out a better button. So I upgraded to a professional button making system. And that's what you will receive. A high quality, professionally made button. I only use high quality button parts. No seconds or rusted parts. And I inspect all my buttons prior to shipping. If they don't meet my standards, they don't get shipped. No if ands or buts! You will receive a button that you will be proud to wear, give as a gift, sell at fundraiser's or to show your customers.

Q: Is shipping ready only $1.50 (US Shipping) for as many buttons as I purchase?

A: Yes. I charge a flat shipping rate for all your buttons. You can see more information about that in the Prices section. But as long as you order them all at once and I ship them all at the same time, shipping is only $1.50 (US Shipping).

Q: Do all the buttons have to be the same one for the $1.50 shipping?

A: No. You can order any buttons you like, mix and match, and they will all be shipped for $1.50. That includes my regular line and any custom or photo buttons as well. Every button on this site is included in the $1.50 flat shipping.

Q: Are T-shirts and Mouse Pads included in the flat shipping rate?

A: Yep, they sure are. Everything on this site that you order at the same time will be covered by the same flat rate shipping.

Q: Do you ship outside the US?

A: Sure I do. Right now I can only set up the shopping cart for the flat rate US shipping. I'm working on getting that changed. But if you would like me to ship outside the US, just email me and I'll send you a special invoice though PayPal. Just let me know which buttons you'd like and where I'm shipping them. Shipping costs for Canada and Mexico is $2.00 for all your buttons. Rest of the world is $3.00.

Q: What happens if I order a button and you've run out of them?

A: I NEVER run out of any buttons! As I design, print and make all my own buttons, you never have to worry about me not having a certain button. If you order it, it will come.

Q: What if I don't want to pay with PayPal. Do I have any other options?

A: At this time the only online processor I use is PayPal. But I do accept Cashier's Checks or Money Orders. You can mail them along with your order to:

Robert Clayton
PO Box 1172
Lyons CO 80540

All funds must be in US Funds. And I'm sorry, I can't accept personal Checks. The fees if it happens to bounce are just too high.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?

A: In most cases you will receive it very quickly. I mail all orders by 1st Class Mail. For larger orders, they will be shipped Priority Mail. But most of the time, you should receive your buttons in about 5-7 days (many times quicker). For orders outside the US, it should be about 7 - 10 Days. For all T-shirt and Mouse Pad orders it will be 7 - 10 days no matter where you live.

Q: What if I need my buttons sooner than 5-7 days?

A: If you are in a hurry for your buttons, or need them for a specific deadline, contact me. I will be glad to work with you to make sure you get them when you need them. If the order calls for a faster shipping method, I will quote you a price that will be fair. I've worked with many people who needed buttons for meeting or events. I WILL make sure you have them when you need them!

Q: I ordered Buttons and a T-Shirt and/or Mouse Pad. I got my buttons, but I didn't received my T-Shirt/Mouse Pad? What's up with that?

A: I make my own buttons, so 99% of the time they are sent out the next day. I have a service that processes all my T-Shirts and Mouse Pad designs, so they are sent from a different place. So they are shipped separate from my buttons. Most likely, you will receive your buttons first and your other items within a few more days.

Q: What if I have a question that isn't covered in the FAQ?

A: Shoot me off an email! I answer all questions within 24 hours. Most of the time much quicker. I'll help you any way I can. I love buttons and want to help you share your own special brand of humor with the world. Just go to the Contact page and you'll find a link to email me there.

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Robert Clayton. Also known as "Erotu". I live in Lyons Colorado with my girlfriend Marie (SantaCammy on eBay). I have 2 sons, Rance and Dylan.

A few years ago (okay, a LOT of years ago) I was introduced to a friend of mine's mother and she collected buttons. She would get them where ever she could. When she went to store that were running button promotions, she would ask for one. Most of the times they would give her one. So she got me interested in collecting buttons.

I collected buttons on and off like this for a long time. Then about 15 years ago, I came across an ad for a home button maker. That planted a seed in my mind about making my own buttons. I kept thinking about it, but never really did anything about it. During that time, I kept coming up with ideas for buttons and just kind of stored them in the back of my mind. (Like my OSIM button. Thought of that almost 20 years ago.)

Then about 5 years ago, I started selling on eBay. After about a year of selling, I came back to the idea of making my own buttons. You see, I have what some would call a very warped sense of humor (as if you couldn't tell by some of my buttons!). I've heard and thought up a bunch of dumb sayings all my life, but didn't have anything to do with them. When I started thinking about making my own line of buttons, it just seemed like a perfect fit. I had always loved buttons, especially the funny ones, so I decided to give it a try.

I looked on eBay and found a hand press button maker and started making buttons. They seemed to be a hit. So I kept making more and coming up with new ideas. And remembering things I had seen in the past. Pretty soon I had about 150 different button designs. After a while, I thought it was time to get serious about my button making. So I bought a professional button maker and went to work.

After about 2 years of selling buttons on eBay, I figured it was time to put my buttons online. So I sat down one day and in about 12 hours, set up my first version of this website. Nothing fancy, but it worked and allowed me to start putting all my buttons out to the general public. There were many I didn't feel I could put on eBay (look at the R-rated buttons and you'll see what I mean). But with the new website, I could offer buttons for everyone's tastes.

As the number of buttons I designed grew, it became harder and harder to get them added to the website. The amount of work to "hard code" everything was overwhelming. I started working on a new layout for the site that looked better and was easier to get around in. Boy, let me tell you, that was a task and a half! After about 6 months of working on it, I wasn't any closer to getting it done. Then my son Rance stepped in. He took my new layout and ideas and turned them into the site you see today. Before, if I wanted to make a change, I had to edit every page on the site. But he went in and wrote the code so that all I have to do is make one change, and it changes on every page. And he made the process of adding new buttons much easier. So thanks to him, I can start getting all my new buttons on the site.

Well, that the story of this site and a little bit about me. If you have any questions, comments or ideas for me, drop me an email. I'll be glad to answer you and help you in the interesting world of buttons.

Best wishes to all of you,

Robert "Erotu" Clayton
