Here's another idea I had.  It will take a little sewing knowledge.  Or having someone around that knows how to sew.

Take a t – shirt.  Turn it inside out.  Sew up around the neck and sleeves (right across the edges) to close them off.  Now turn it right side out.

Now cut a piece of fabric (any kind will do but try to use a heavier cloth if possible) 12 inches long by 3 inches wide.  Place it in the middle of the shirt with the top of the strip a couple of inches from the collar.  Sew it to the shirt, sewing the top and both sides.  Leave the bottom open to create a long upside down pocket.

Now stuff the shirt with batting.  You can get it at any hobby or fabric store or Wal-Mart.  Stuff the shirt as much as you want.  Don't make it look too fat, but just enough to give it that “just right” look.  Now sew the bottom shut.

Okay, now to make the stand.  Cut a piece of wood about 12 x 12 inches.  In the middle we are going to put a pole in it.  How long you want the pole depends on how big the shirt is.  Measure from the top of the pocket you made to the bottom of the shirt.  Then add a couple of inches. Adding the inches to your measurement will create a gap between the top of the base and the bottom of the shirt.  So how ever big you want the gap, add that much.

Now cut a pole to the length you just measured and add 1 inch.  If you have an old broom handle you can use that.  Otherwise, go down to the local store and buy a broom handle that is at least as long as you measured.

Now drill a hole in the base that is the same size as the pole you just cut, and an inch deep.  Push the pole down in the hole.  You can secure the handle by putting a screw into it from the bottom.  You'll need to countersink the screw into the wood or it won't sit flush.

Now put the pocket on the back of the shirt over the pole and feed it down.  And there you go.  You have a very unique (and pretty cool if I do say so myself) button display.

Let me know what you think of this idea.  And let's hear some others!

Best wishes to all,
Robbie
